This hiking wool really comes from the island and the sheep that live with the farmers of Texel. The wool is nice and thick and has a high lanolin content.

By placing the wool on the sore spot, the pressure on the spot is reduced and relieved. The wool absorbs the pressure but does not close off the skin. In fact, sheep's wool is breathable, so it does not scalp. 

Our feet have to endure a lot. Particularly when walking or due to the wrong shoes, foot pain can occur and disappear with difficulty. By placing a tuft of walking wool on the painful spot, the pressure on the spot is reduced and the skin is not stressed by any abrasive movement. In this way, the affected area can recover peacefully while you move just as much.

Because we wash the Texel hiking wool at a certain temperature, the wool becomes hygienically clean but still retains its lanolin. A high concentration of lanonline in the hiking wool, helps to care for the (painful) skin. Lanonline (also called wool fat) is often found in various skin creams for its soothing effect and making the skin supple. It absorbs well and has a healing effect.
